USNIC Appoints Samantha “Sam” Wiesneth as Communications Director
ARLINGTON, Va., Oct. 21, 2025 — The U.S. Nuclear Industry Council (USNIC) today announced that Samantha (“Sam”) Wiesneth has joined the organization as communications director. In this role, Wiesneth will lead earned media, digital strategy, and content development efforts to elevate USNIC’s advocacy on behalf of the U.S. nuclear industry and domestic supply chain.
Wiesneth brings a strong background in strategic communications, public affairs, and content creation. She previously served on the communications teams for U.S. Sen. Steve Daines (R-Mont.) and the U.S. House Committee on Homeland Security, experience that positions her to deepen USNIC’s outreach to policymakers, industry leaders, and the public.
“Sam’s experience on Capitol Hill and in integrated communications will help us tell a clear, credible story about nuclear energy’s role in America’s energy security and clean-energy future,” said Todd Abrajano, president and CEO of USNIC. “We’re thrilled to welcome her to the team.”
“I’m excited to join USNIC at a pivotal moment for advanced nuclear,” Wiesneth said. “I look forward to amplifying our members’ work and highlighting the real-world progress across the U.S. supply chain.”
Wiesneth holds a B.S. in Journalism (News and Information) and a B.A. in Political Science from Ohio University.
